Southwest University (SWU) was founded in 1906 and situated in Chongqing city in mainland China, one of the top 5 universities in China in the fields of education and training. It has 32 faculties and enrols over 55,600 students in 173 undergraduates, masters and doctoral programmes, including Master and PhD program in information technology, education, and business management. There are over 2800 full time teachers including 1800 professors and full-time researchers. Southwest University is among the first institutions that were allowed by the Chinese government to confer advanced degrees, including Master and Doctorate.
The SWU plays a leading role in scientific research and the wide range of disciplines represented promotes a multidisciplinary approach. The SWU's commitment to internationalization is reflected in its satellite office as well as agreements with many international universities facilitating exchanges and joint projects for students and researchers. The university, according to its internationalization strategy has created offices specialized in international projects support: the International Educational Projects Unit and the International Research Projects Unit.
